BBNaija fans are only interested in relationships, Efe gives reason for ex-housemates ‘failed’ musical career
A former winner of the Big Brother Naija show, Michael Efe Ejeba simply known as Efe, has claimed that ex-housemates often struggle with their musical career because fans of the show are only interested in relationships.
According to the 2017 winner, the set of fans who follow the show religiously are not the same as the people who listen to music.
In addition, Efe, who is a rapper, stated that viewers of the show are more interested in drama, describing them as “passive consumers of music”.
“The reality TV audience is almost totally different from the music audience,” he said.
“The reality TV audience are passive consumers of music. They enjoy lifestyle and drama while the active music consumers are totally different.
“When you go to reality TV, they just want to see you for your drama, fine clothes, and who you are dating. They have less interest in your music,” he said.
Efe and some other BBNaija former housemates who dabbled into music have been struggling with the career.
Among the musicians are Laycon and White Money who won the show in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Other artistes include Bryann, Vee, Uriel, Avala, Groovy, and Soma.
