Ayra Starr deserves Grammy nominations – Jaywon
Nigerian singer, Jaywon, has described his colleague, Ayra Starr as one of the best female vocalists in Africa, stressing that the singer deserves Grammy nominations in 2024.
Recall that Starr’s name was not included in the 67th Grammys which was recently announced, sparking controversies amongst her fans and music lovers across Africa.
Reacting to the Grammy snub, Jaywon, who believes Starr has a remarkable 2024 described her as one of the best female African vocalists.
He further explained that he doesn’t pull people down but elevates them for future purposes.
“If you see Ayra Starr, tell her I’m sorry she wasn’t nominated for this year’s Grammys. I’m a huge fan of her music, and I believe she’s one of the best female vocalists Africa has.
“On this side, we don’t pull people down. We elevate, not just for today, but for the future. Ola Inu Kan,” the singer wrote.
Jaywon is a voting member of the Recording Academy, the organisers of the Grammys.
