Gospel artist, Yinka Ayefele has said that his reason for establishing ‘Ayefele Foundation,’ a non-government organisation, is to assist spinal cord injury patients.
Speaking with https://www.nigeriafilms.com recently, Ayefele, whose new album will be released by February 2009, said that he is currently soliciting for support from Nigerians and corporate bodies to generate funds for the foundation.
He said that the Ayefele Foundation was set up to reach out to underprivileged people in the society, but due to his condition as a spinal cord patient, he has resolved to bring succour to others who are going through the same pain.
“You cannot understand the pain they are going through because you have the ability to move about.
“I feel the pain and that is why I have come up with the Ayefele Foundation.”
Ayefele expressed bitterness about the way underprivileged people, especially spinal cord patients, are being treated in Nigeria.
“How else do you want to love your neighbour as yourself when you allow the down trodden to lose hope in the future?” he queried.
The gospel artist said that the foundation will be launched on 1 February, 2009 to commemorate his birthday.
Meanwhile, at least ten top gospel music acts would perform at this year’s God of Glory Christian Church Pastor’s Praise event.
Entitled God of Possibilities, the event will hold today at the Centre for Management Development (CMD) ground, Ikosi from 10 p.m. till dawn. Yinka Ayefele, Kefee, Mike Aremu, RT Williams and others are billed to perform at the occasion while Fred Odekihan, Amos Fenwa and Lawrence Oyetunji among others are to minister.
