Years after dropping a magnificent theme song for Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), “The Place To Be”, Nigerian French singer, Asa has said that she doesn’t want to be associated with the bank anymore.
Her statement came as a shock to her numerous fans as the singer is known to never be confrontational or have any stomach for social media drama.
A fan of Asa had tweeted at her, asking if GTB had thanked her enough for the beautiful song. But her response caught everybody by surprise.

The song dropped in 2009, with the bank using it as their theme song to great effect. The song was played in all GT banks nationwide but details of the singer’s agreement with the bank is not known.
Current speculations point to a case of breach of either trust or contract.
