Director of Education and Social Services in Funtua Local Government Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Nasir has disclosed that about eighteen babies were discovered at various times in in toilets and dustbin.
The babies were discovered at these points within the periods of four months. Some were abandoned in the market place, public places while some others were thrown into the toilet. What kind of mother can do such to her baby?
“Some of the babies were also thrown into toilets, while some were left in markets, public places and uncompleted buildings in the towns,” the official said.
The director decry the rate at which these babies are being abandoned by their mothers as he calls out for funds that can be used to take care of these children and also evacuation and repatriation of lunatics.
Meanwhile he did not fail to laud the District Head of Funtua, Alhaji Sambo Idris, and other traditional leaders for their contributions in the recovery and survival of the abandoned babies.
