Super Eagles and Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa has reiterated that he is “a footballer and not a politician.”
This followed suggestions he would be gunning for a political position as he bagged two goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Iceland at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
However, while chatting with fans in Abuja over the weekend, the former CSKA Moscow star rebuffed the speculations, stressing that he remains committed to his game.
“I am a footballer and not a politician. I have tried to do the little I could to help others and I will continue to do so. I thank God for His many blessings and from there I have tried to change some lives.
“But I don’t have any plans to run for any political office.”
