Some ardent fans of Nollywood were shocked recently when they saw one of the stars of yesteryears, Ernest Azuzu begging for help to treat an illness he has been battling with lately. When some took the courage to ask why, he claimed to have been neglected by his colleagues.
According to reports, Azuzu said his ailment is known to many people in Nollywood, including the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president, Ibinabo Fiberesima. He alleged that Ibinabo in particular has refused to help him.
But after keeping silent over the matter for a loge time, the sultry actress has replied the actor, telling point blank that he should stop denting her image on the pages of newspapers because he needs help. She pointed out that Azuzu has not been paying his association dues and that he even refused to register for the health insurance scheme introduced by AGN.
“I have kept quiet for too long and this doesn’t mean I am a fool. I don’t go about abusing people on the pages of newspapers.
“If he is sick, he should take care of himself and stop begging on the streets and tell people what exactly is wrong with him. I am Ibinabo and AGN is a body. He should stop rubbishing my name on the pages of newspapers,” she told Tribune.
