Nigerian actress, Ruby Ojiakor, has opened up on why she presented the key to her new car to a statue of Holy Mary and Jesus in a church.
The actress came under criticism after some netizens accused her of idol worship after the video of the presentation went viral.
Speaking on Saturday, the thespian denied claims of idol worshipping, noting that issues of faith are personal and not for public debates.
Her words, “Whatever one believes works for one, and it is the heart that God is looking at. If my belief and faith is in the place I went to, it will definitely work for me. I don’t care what people are saying about idol worshipping; that is not what it is. Those are statues of Mother Mary and Jesus.
“I have always been a Jesus girl even before I started acting so, I am not faking anything. Whatever people say doesn’t affect me in any way, because I am human just like them. The only difference is that we are entertaining them, so they look at us in some sort of way. I am not hiding my religion.”
The popular actress addresed the issue of cyberbullying saying, “There is nothing you can do that people would not talk, but some fans don’t care about our feelings. There is no way you will be insulting someone for a long time and expect them to do nothing. Do you want to kill the person? I have experienced cyberbullying, and I am still passing through it, especially with this recent post. People have said so many things about me, but I do not care. Most times, I delete those messages and I block such people but sometimes, I get tired of blocking. Now, I don’t even bother to check the reactions on my posts, I just post and go.”
