Actress Adunni Ade Shares Her Struggle Speaking Yoruba
Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade has shared the difficulties she faces while trying to speak Yoruba language.
According to the thespian, the language is draining and it sometimes hurts her nerves.
The actress born to a German-American mother and a Nigerian father of Yoruba descent, said she prefers English which is Nigeria’s lingua franca, stressing that all the other languages should be put aside.
She said, “Speaking Yoruba is draining, sometimes it hurts my nerves. The first language that we know in Nigeria is English. Let’s put all the other languages aside.”
She, however, appreciated that her father brought her to Nigeria to learn the Nigerian culture, language, and everything Nigerian.
