General Overseer of Later Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has said that President Muhammadu Buhari choose him to be his running mate in 2011 because he wanted someone who is effective, efficient and capable of taking over the mantle if he dies in office.
His statement indicates that the President has been preparing for his death close to seven years ago.
But the question is, if Buhari sees Bakare as someone who can hold the nation together in 2011, what happened in 2015 when he came back to contest, why did’nt he make the pastor his running mate again. Does it mean that Tunde Bakare lost that trust over the years?
Recall that President Mohammadu Buhari and Pastor Tunde Bakare contested the election under the platform of the then Congress for Progressives Change (CPC), but lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
