The President of the Actors Guild in Nigeria, Mr. Ejike Asiegbu, has arrived in the country on a visit aimed at strengthening synergies with the local film industry and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority in the country’s image building initiative.
The President of the Actors Guild in Nigeria, Mr. Ejike Asiegbu, has arrived in the country on a visit aimed at strengthening synergies with the local film industry and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority in the country’s image building initiative.
During the visit, the Nollywood star is expected to meet tourism officials and stakeholders in the film industry to assess progress made in the making of the film project, “The Zimbabwe I Know.”
The movie, set to be shot in the country featuring a combination of Zimbabwe and Nollywood actors, is aimed at perception management of the country as a hospitable and safe destination.
Mr. Ejike, who has starred in several Nigerian movies, commended the collaboration between the two countries film industries and said there are plans to create more film exchange programmes.
The script writer and producer of the movie, Mr. Tawonga Mafundikwa known as “CC” in Small House Saga, said Zimbabwe film industry stands to benefit immensely from the partnership with the West African country’s film industry.
Local film stars set to be part of the project include award winning Charles Kapfupi, Evangelista Mwatse, Christine Gonyora and Cony Moyo
