Just when many thought that the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner would stick to the doctor’s recommendation and stay in his cozy bed while his colleagues shine under the floodlights of the Headies awards, Wizkid appeared at the nick of time to pick the biggest gong of the night to ecstatic appreciation from the entire hall.

His appearance last night was his first since he announced the cancellation of his December and January concerts, as he picked up the Artiste of the Year award at the 2016 Headies.

Wizkid timed his entrance to perfection, only coming in towards the end of the show in company of his manager Sunday Are following which he was unsurprisingly announced as the Artiste of Year award winner.

The Sony Music artiste has had an amazing year and it was only befitting that he closed the year on a deserved high.
