The once divided PDP is gradually rising with better solutions like what is happening in Rivers State. Alhaji Modu Sheriff, the contentious National Chairman of the PDP yesterday inaugurated a full  Rivers State and a Plateau State Executive Committees of the PDP in effect dissolving the current State Excos of PDP in those States.

The new Plateau and Rivers Excos have as their respective  Chairman Hon. Vyang Babung and Dr. Silva Opusunju. Responding to the swearing- in ceremony conducted amid a hall packed full of members of the Sheriff National  Working Committee, members and  and delegates from the states led by PDP National Chairman  Dr Cairo Ojubough,  the new State Chairmen noted that it was period marked by thick cloud of  unchecked  impunity against members and abuse of  the Party’s constituion that caused the Party’s rejection by Nigerians.

Yet lessons have not been learnt. That their  tenure would witness the return of  confidence, party discipline and internal governance in the affairs of the  State organs of the Party. That party affairs would henceforth be on the basis of collective responsibily and due process. Every member is as important as the other and all are equal before the Party’s Constitution. They vowed to sanitize the party  political process in their States in the interest of all members.
