On ‘The Slab’ this week, we saw Roqeebah Olaoniye, Ezinne Ajoku, Tolu Omoyeni and Chuks Okpani in a dialogue with  Isime Esene about Iyanya’s move to Mavin Records. Since Iyanya made that dramatic move to Mavin, there have been a lot of talks about it.

“What I feel about the whole thing is that he has gotten to a stage in his career that he wants more international recognition perhaps. You could see that he’s thinking of a path that follows with structure,” Chuks said.

“We might have to take you back to… during the Headies when the Mavins and Olamide’s boys were fighting, you will notice that even in that squabble there was structure because… at that point it’s like Don Jazzy sent a message that to everybody that nobody should say anything about it and nobody did. Everybody in Olamide’s team were just ranting all over the place.”
