The Ogun State Police Command has made known their intention to prosecute a Pentecostal pastor, identified as Wale Fagbere, who allegedly invaded a traditional shrine in the Ketu area of Ayetoro.
Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state said the pastor would be charged for malicious damage and conduct likely to cause a breach of the public peace.
“What he did was wrong and so he must be charged to court. If it was the other way round too, they would also be charged to court.
“Everyone has a right to worship whatever deity one chooses to worship without fear,” he said.
He stated that the accused on Saturday tried to bring down a shrine located in Ketu, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.
He was said to have gone unconscious upon entering the shrine but was later restored after some rituals were performed on him by the order of the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Abdulaziz Adelakun.
