The police from Alakara division has arrested one Kabiru Ademola , a trailer driver for allegedly crushing a pedestrian to death in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that the trailer driver who was on a high speed with another truck hit the victim, Kamoru Ibrahim and a Toyota Camry parked by the roadside in the area
Those who came at the scene of the incident were Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Policemen from the Alakara division.
According to the Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe,said there was a collaboration between the Isolo fire fighters and LASEMA.
Speaking about the incident was a LASEMA official who pleaded anonymity said, “The accident happened on Agege Motor Road, Mushin. The trailer carried gravel and the driver engaged in a race with another truck. In the process, the driver crushed a 38-year-old pedestrian, Kamoru Ibrahim. The man was trapped under the truck and we had to use our equipment to extricate his remains from the trailer. The trailer also damaged another car parked by the roadside before coming to a halt.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed that the suspect was in police custody. The remains of the victim has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
