There is a prison break at the Koton-Karfi Medium Prison along Opareke in Kogi State where 13 inmates have been declared missing. This unfortunate incident happed on Saturday morning after the prison wall collapsed.
It has been revealed that some insiders may have helped the inmates to escape. The prison officials on duty had opened some of the cells for the inmates to come out for their normal morning activities, only for the inmates to pull a section of the prison’s wall down and escape into a nearby bush. Among the escaped inmates are four kidnappers who were brought to the prison last Friday.
This jailbreak is the third in the past three weeks. The Comptroller of Prison, Kogi State Command, Mr. Musa Maza, has not said anything about this.
