While some Nollywood producers and directors are busy trying to clean the industry with the high rate of too many exposed body movies, the crisis rocking the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) seems to have created some factions.
After a court injunction some months back authorizing the movie body to organize a fresh election as it did not recognized Ibinabo Fiberesima as the President of the guild rather Emeka Ike, there have been various dramas playing out.
Emeka Ike has been parading himself as the guild’s President and while some members have given him strong backing, Ibinabo on the other hand has been silent on the matter while facing her family and working on some scripts but she will always have her supporters who still recognizes her as their President.
Ibinabo has been silent on matters concerning the guild and its Presidency but her friend and actress, Grace Ama, will never take a no for an answer as she keeps telling those that care to listen that Ibinabo still remains the guild’s President.
Grace who was a guest on popular TVC entertainment programme, Entertainment Splash, monitored by Nigeriafilms.com, noted that she does not recognized any other person being paraded as the guild’s President except Ibinabo whom they are all familiar with.
In her words on what the guilds have done to help sick actors she said, “Under our President, Ibinabo Fiberesima, there have been some structures being put in place to oversee these issues.” When the presenter cuts in to ask about Emeka Ike who is now seen as the Guild’s President she said, “I don’t know any other person as the President except Ibinabo.”
