The Rivers State Government has accused the ex-governor of the state and Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi of embezzling N3 trillion during tenure as the governor of the state.
According to the State Commissioner for Information, Dr Tam-George Amaechi allegedly left “the most abandoned projects in the history of the State,”
He borrowed N4bn Agriculutural loan from the Central Bank without any trace of farmers who were beneficiary of the loan.
He stated that the present Governor, Nyesom Wike who had borrowed N2bn now has not less than 35,000 beneficiaries.
Reacting to this allegation, the Publicity Secretary of APC in the state, Mr Chris Finebone described it as unfounded adding that the State Commissioner for Information was reeling out imaginary figures.
“For once, you guys should ask the Commissioner what was used for those uncompleted projects he claimed was abandoned. It is important he cross-check his records so that he can overcome his little dream world of make-belief,” Finebone said.
