Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda, the Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has stated that 96 percent of MSMEs in the country are micro and the agency has taken it upon itself to ensure that they have the capacity to access funds.

He restated the agency’s commitment to assist the state government in the developing and promoting of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He said the decision for the support was motivated by the underlying potential of the sector to create wealth and reduce poverty.

He expressed satisfaction on the visit of the Plateau State chief executive to the agency as he described it as very encouraging.
Radda furthered that SMEDAN is ready to assist the state in any key areas of business development services and entrepreneurship training.

According to governor Lalong, SMEDAN was a vital key that will help in actualizing one of his agenda targeted on the youth and women.
