Actress-singer Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has told ATG exclusively that she has finished gathering materials for her second studio album.
The 30 year-old mother-of-four, who surprised us all with her 2006 debut Gba! says there’s ‘‘no way I’m quitting music’’, as if responding to those who feel she might be considering folding her songbook and facing her movie career (just Like Genevieve whose experimental album One logo logo line earned her more whips than props).
‘‘I’ve learnt a lot about the music industry. And I’ve been recording’’, she told ATG. ‘‘I just returned from the US where I mixed and mastered the album and now, we’re in discussions with partners, marketers and directors so we can fix a date for release and start shooting videos’’.
She left for the US on Sunday November 9 and returned last week.
On Friday December 19, she had a private listening session attended by close friends and associates including Kemi Adetiba, Ayo Animashaun, Dj Bombastic and Victor Udeh.
The new set of songs were produced by Paul Play and Del B at Playground studios, Lagos.
The full album, containing tracks like missing you, never let you go, lose the war, harmony and feel alright, is scheduled for release early 2009.
