Bleaching is an issue that has continued to be talked about in this part of the world. Many Africans have kicked against it.

Africans have been urged to be proud of their skin colour and not do anything to alter or change it for anything. Even Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, in one of his songs, ‘Yellow Fever’ kicked against bleaching of skin colour.

Last week, at the Felebration held in Lagos, Sean Tizzle was among the numerous artistes that thrilled guests, but a fan of his was not happy with the colour of back of his palm.

The fan slammed the singer and further wrote, “Let’s join voices and hands together to highlight the dangers of skin bleaching for our young black boys and girls.

“After all, Fela, whom we are celebrating, was totally against skin bleaching and his best album, in my view, ‘Yellow Fever’ highlighted the dangers, educated us and many of us are better for it today.

“No doubt the young man in question is a talented musician and a role model for many young boys and girls, just as Fela was to me back then, we should discourage such act of skin bleaching!”
