Movie star, Doris Simeon, has said the ability to negotiate appearance fee for movies rests solely on actors’ bargaining power.

According to her, an actor can decide not to be paid for a job, saying no one will prosecute him for such.

Doris further noted that what an actor gets for appearing in a movie also lies on how such actor carries himself.

“That is what most people will always come up with. But this industry is not about fixed price. We have our different ways of negotiating. It all depends on the way you carry yourself. If you want a complementary agreement, nobody will query you. If you want to do a job and collect your money, that is also fine.

“This is not a salaried job that anybody will sack you or tell you he won’t pay you at the end of the month. If they pay them so fantastically well in the English movie industry, most of them wouldn’t have gone into producing movies as well. It is about choice,” she told Newswatch.
