Royal Arts Academy in conjunction with Nollywood Workshop released a new block buster movie, titled ‘Code of Silence, ’which explores the very important themes of rape, gender violence, family planning and other health messages through various characters in the story.

The movie stars the likes of Ini Edo, Patience Ozorkwor, Desmond Elliot. Omoni Oboli, Kofi Adjorlolo, Amaechi Muonagor, Shawn Faqua, Makida Moka and many others.

Speaking about the movie which was premiered recently in Lagos, Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli, stated that people need to start talking about rape cases because it is not a taboo but a way of helping the society to eradicate it to some level.

She stressed that people should not forget that talking about rape is not only applicable to women alone as some men are also victim of rape cases.

In her words, “We should make them know that it’s not a taboo to talk about it. It’s not because of anything they did or didn’t do. You could be dressed as a Nun and still get raped.”

“Whether they are women or men, men also sometimes get raped. We must, as a society, ensure that they have a voice and not stigmatization,” she added.
