News of the traditional wedding of former Big Brother Africa (BBA) stars, Elikem Kumordzi and Pokello Nare was a surprise to most of their fans, who never saw it coming.
The lovers held their traditional wedding ceremony in Zimbabwe over the weekend, precisely on Saturday, June 20, 2015 and some of their close friends and family members were in attendance for the event.
Speaking with Peace FM Online, Elikem explained the controversies surrounding the bride price he paid to his wife’s family. There have been confusing figures on the actual amount requested from him as bride price.
He said, “I paid a lot of money and before you pay such money for a lady’s hand in marriage you have to be sure she’s the one. So it feels good to be married to the right woman. It feels amazing. No mistakes or regrets whatsoever.

“The lobola (bride price for a traditional marriage in Zimbabwe) was 25,000 US Dollars. A deposit of 20,000 US Dollars was paid on Saturday and the 5,000 US Dollars balance is to be paid by the white wedding.”
Elikem revealed that the white wedding would be a two-nation affair; first in Ghana and later in Zimbabwe. He said the customary law in his bride’s homeland does not provide an immediate date after the traditional marriage is done.
