Comedian Ayo Makun may know his onions when it comes to making people laugh with jokes, but it would have been a different story during the week if mother luck had not intervened. The comedian was involved in an accident that could have turned the laughter of his admirers into tears.
Speaking to Life and Beat about the incident, AY said he was on his way to the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja after attending Tee A’s show when he had the accident.
He said, “I was in a cab. Suddenly, the tyre burst and the next thing I saw was that the car was somersaulting.”
According to the comedian, eyewitnesses could not believe their eyes when he came out of the car unscathed. “They thought they were seeing a ghost. It was terrible, but I thank God.”
However, the accident did not stop the comedian from getting his groove back.
“It didn’t stop me. I still had to dash to Asaba to anchor a show. But since then, my wife has been calling me every minute. Can you imagine? She would have turned into a young widow if not for God.”
