Nollywood actor, Bob Manuel Udoku, is not a new name in the Nigerian movie industry as he could also be called a veteran who has been in the industry for so long and has featured in several movies and soaps in the early 90s like popular one, ‘Checkmate.’
While still savouring his success in the make-belief industry, the actor got a political call as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, on Movie and the Entertainment Industry.
While delivering his service, the actor felt it was time for him to serve his people directly rather than be an appointee, so gave politics a direct trial by planning to contest for the Anambra State House of Assembly under the umbrella of APGA, but was denied the party ticket.
Speaking with Encomium, the actor expressed his satisfaction especially when he was called back to office by the Governor of the state after his resignation, but stated that he is not satisfied yet as he plans to give his political ambition another trial come 2019.
“One can never be satisfied. There are dreams and aspirations one had to accomplish. One needs to get the level where like a fisherman, you can cast a net for the benefit of the people,” he said.
