Some aggressive Nigerians have resorted into taking the laws into the hands over the poor security in the country.

Yesterday, Sunday, March 1, a woman, who refused to submit herself for security check, was set ablaze by a mob in Bauchi’s Muda Lawal Market.

The ugly incident was confirmed by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Haruna Mohammed.

He said, “Information at our disposal revealed that a yet-to-be identified lady, who allegedly refused to allow herself to be screened at the entrance of Muda Lawal Market Bauchi, was attacked by irate mob who took laws into their hands and set her ablaze. As a result, she died on the spot before rescue could come.”

Mohammed said police patrol teams including Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit rushed to the scene, dispersed the rampaging crowd and restored normalcy in the area.

The police spokesperson also said the case is under investigation and intensive patrol is ongoing in the area in order to apprehend the perpetrators of the act and also prevent any further breakdown of law and order.
