Multiple Grammy award-winning music act, Lauryn Hill is set to be in Lagos, Nigeria later in the year. The singer is expected to be in the country on a day set aside for the celebration of workers around the world.

May 1 of every year is set aside to mark Workers’ Day and Lauryn Hill will be at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos that same day.

She will be performing at a show organised by MayDay. Guests will have the opportunity to watch her perform some of her timeless hit tunes that ruled the airwaves some years ago.

The American artiste was a member of the Fugees music group. Apart from being a singer, Lauryn Hill is a rapper, actress and producer. Her music is influenced by African-American and Caribbean origins.

The Fugees boasted of Prakazrel ‘Pras’ Michel, Wyclef Jean before they broke up in 1997.

Songs that made her a respected artiste include the world wide acclaim love song, ‘Killing Me softly’, ‘Ready Or Not’. She has worked with the likes of D’Angelo, Carlos Santana, Mary J. Blige and John Legend.

She starred in the television soap opera ‘As the World Turns’ and starring in the film ‘Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit’ alongside A-list actress, Whoopi Goldberg. She reportedly turned down movie roles in ‘The Matrix’ series, ‘Bourne Identity’ and ‘Charlie’s Angels’.
