Some years ago, Nigerians fell in love with a programme hosted by Frank Idoho called Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM).
Few weeks after the television show hit the silver screens, it got the massive attention of viewers to the extent that those who watch it leave whatever they were doing to stay glued to the highly informative and educating programme.
Apart from its educative angle, the ability of the host to put the contestants and his viewers in suspense was one of its Unique Selling Points (USP).
Frank sometimes almost make both his contestants and viewers melt on the ‘hot’ seat with his ‘let’s go on a commercial break’ slogan whenever he wants to put fear on them.
But in recent time, the show seems to have lost it viewership base. The vibe that used to characterise the WWTBAM show seems to have been lost.
Some youths, who use to watch the show, now prefer to see main entertainment programmes on TV. Though we could not ascertain what could have led to this trend, but there are mixed views on the reason for it.
The WWTBAM has made many Nigerians millionaires and has been used to put smiles in most homes of its viewers.
