shocking message from Africa’s Princess of music and Humanitarian ambassador, Yvonne Chakachaka, who told him that he is still young in the game.

Dubbed the “Princess of Africa”, Chaka Chaka has been at the forefront of South African popular music for 20 years. Songs like “I’m Burning Up”, “thank you mister dj”, “I Cry for Freedom”, “Makoti”, “Motherland” and the ever-popular “Umqombothi” (“African Beer”) ensured Yvonne’s stardom.

Yvonne Chakachaka who will be present as D’banj celebrates his achievements, explained that though the singer did not invite her but she had to come over herself because he was her son but pointed out that the singer has a long way to go as she is 30 years older than him in the music industry at large.

According to the veteran singer in a short video clip, “D’banj my son, this is mama. You didn’t invite me but I invited myself. 10 years in the music industry, you’ve got a long way to come after me. I am 30 years in the music industry but you know what, Africa loves you. You are the pulse in the music industry in Africa. I am going to say yes, you are the Oliver Twist, continue making us proud, you are great African son.”

The song “Umqombothi” was featured in the opening scene of the 2004 movie Hotel Rwanda.
