Tayo Faniran, Nigeria’s representative at the 2014 edition of Big Brother Africa (BBA) Hotshots, emerged the first runner-up of the just-concluded TV reality show.

But the dark-complexioned dude, who returned to the country few days ago, was treated to a well deserved welcome home party at the popular CovaLounge in Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday night.

Speaking with journalists shortly before the party, the 28-year-old model and new dad said he was shocked when Idris Sultan of Tanzania was declared the winner of the reality show.

“I was really shocked when IK declared Idris the winner of the show. I genuinely thought I would win, or at least be declared a co-winner! Nonetheless I’m incredibly grateful for the unique opportunity and exposure Big Brother has given me. All I can tell Nigerians, Africa and the rest of the world now is ‘watch this space!” he revealed.

The reality show, which began with 26 housemates, successfully came to an end on Sunday, 7 December 2014 with Idris Sultan of Tanzania as winner.
