African filmmakers have been asked to submit their movies for consideration for the 2015 edition of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

The prestigious event is used to celebrate the best movies and professionals in the African film industry. Since its inception more than a decade ago, AMAA has grown to unarguably become Africa’s biggest reward platform for filmmakers on the continent.

For the 2015 AMAA, filmmakers have been asked to submit their feature, short or documentary for the 11th edition.

“The deadline for submissions is 30 January 2015 and only films produced and/or released between 1 December 2013 and 30 December 2014 are eligible for consideration. Non-English films will need to be sub-titled in English,” a statement made available to Nigeriafilms.com on Tuesday disclosed.

“We have given four months window to enable entries to come from all parts of Africa and from the Diaspora filmmakers to give room for logistics of sending to our regional offices in Cape Town and our Lagos Office,” Tony Anih, Director of Administration said in the statement.

Anih adds, “We are proud of the work we have done with filmmakers across Africa in the last 10 years; and moving into another 10 years starting from the 11th edition next year, we are sure the future of AMAA and business of filmmaking in the continent is very bright.”

AMAA revealed that submissions of materials for the award ceremony must be entered online at the AMAA website and each completed entry form must be accompanied by all relevant supporting materials.© 2014Nigeriafilms.com
