Controversial Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has revealed that she is now matured and at the moment knows well to face some challenges in the media and the industry as well.
The Kogi State-born actress said it was really rough for her in 2013. She disclosed that in the same year, she went through lots of emotional challenges, adding that when she tried to speak out, people still took advantage of her cry.
“One of the nuggets that helped me survive that stage was a conciliatory understanding that, that which had caused my pain once made me happy. It once filled me with joy and love,” she confessed.
Halima told Tribune in an interview that because she was not earlier matured enough, she allowed everything that hit her to pull her down, but expressed happiness in herself that she can now stand any heat that comes her way.
She hailed the media for making her who she is today, but advised them to always crosscheck their facts before publishing their stories.
According to her, “To be fair to the media, they have been good to me. They have to sell. Bloggers have to make money too. And I do not blame all of them for the stories they have published about me. I only have to say that they should not break somebody for profit. The media should double-check stories before publishing.”
