Nigeria’s Award-winning director, producer and cinematographer, Kemi Adetiba, recently was over the weekend in shock as her house was almost engulfed by an inferno which was caused by an electrical fault.

According to her, had just finished entertaining guests and was locking up for the night when suddenly smoke shoots out of one of the ACs with fire sparks spitting as well.

She added that if not for the fact that the AC was in the room, it would have have taken just one of those sparks to light up her curtains leading to a whole different story.
The TV host noted that immediately the fire started, her friend ordered her to get a fire extinguisher and fire blanket, which she did and it was used to control the fire from spreading. Explaining that he unfortunately her neighbour friend was one of the four that had her entire bedroom room razed by an AC fire.

Kemi stated that though, nobody prays for any fir outbreak, but advised fans and friends to try and be well equipped in case of one. Adding that if they can’t afford the fancy gadgets of a smoke detector at least they can invest in a fire extinguisher and blanket.

When asked by a fan if she had any formal training on how to use the fire extinguisher, she revealed that a gentleman at the section was kind enough to take her through it, and warned her it had to be serviced every six months if not used.
