It was a sad Tuesday afternoon when Nollywood actor, Clems Onyeka was killed as armed robbers attacked a billion van in Asaba, the capital city of Delta State.

The robbers, according to dependable sources, trailed the bullion van from the Benin/Asaba Expressway through Summit Road and intercepted it on the DBS Road, by U & I Foundation, where they engaged the police on escort duty in a shoot-out and the Nollywood ace was hit by a stray bullet.

It was also gathered that the robbers, numbering over eight, came out from their Sienna Toyota car in a commando style.

In regard to this great loss in Nollywood, Nigeriafilms.com, spoke with some movie stars who happened to be colleagues of the late actor.

According to Chioma Toplis,”It is so painful when all his struggles were starting paying off, his life was cut short. What a waste. I have worked with Clems in some movie scenes, during his upcoming days. The news of his death is still very shocking to me.”

Another close pal of the deceased actor, Chigozie Atuanya, said Clems was his very close friend before the evil hands of death snatched him away.

“He was my very good pal. We do things together. Clems was a very jovial and kind guy. He doesn’t like trouble. It is so painful that he had to die like this. God knows the best. May his soul rest in peace.”

Mimi Orjiekwe urged the AGN to come together and fight for the death of one of their own. She also urged them to consider the three boys Clems left behind.

“At this time, we call on all true members of AGN 2 speak with one voice on behalf of our colleague, brother and dear friend. Clems at the time of his death left behind 3 sons; it hurts to know the pains and helplessness which his boys now face and it must be conveyed through our unified voice.

“Many questions arose after the killing of Clems, but the striking one concerns the fate of his three sons. Truly, what happens to them now? And how do they get by each day in the absence of their sole provider? Clems’ death speaks loudly of the injustice that is predominant in our land.

“His boys are minors and they lack the will and the political muscle to confront the government over this evil. A life of immense value has been lost and his children and Nollywood deserves coherent answers. Brothers and sisters of Actors Guild of Nigeria, now is the time to demand answers. In all of these we must remember that the fate of his 3 sons now depend on how we resolve to unite and speak in one voice as a loud and indomitable unit. Wherever he is, Clems is watching and he is hoping that as one family we will do right. Pls lend your voice by spreading this message.” Mimi said in a Blackberry Broadcast.
