It is my honest opinion that nollywood may be unconsciously endorsing bad habits and a particularly new ugly trend which is, allowing just about anybody insult our elected leaders and get away with it.

Nollywood practitioners are in the business of being seen and sadly, even fools, scalawags and nincompoops like John Okafor better known as Mr.Ibu wants to be seen. I have given it much thought and I still can’t find one person to put the blame on.

I am convinced that nobody should be blamed for ibu’s recent buf foolery. Yes, not the eggheads in Glo’s branding team that recently signed the self acclaimed “mumu” as one of their brand ambassadors or the traffic hungry press that made their platform available for such stupidity.

No one but Mr.Ibu should be blamed for his false, baseless, brainless and porous accusations on the president of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ms.Ibinabo Fiberesima.

It is not in my nature to waste time on individuals that lack the brain power to process information or those who will stop at nothing to show the world just how foolish they are in real life so I will not spend time to educate Mr.ibu on the achievements of madam president.

I reckon he does not have the mental ability to assimilate such information. As a nollywood practitioner and pressman, nollywood is my primary constituency. I can authoritatively tell you that no nollywood president both past or present have achieved what Ms.Fiberesima fondly called Mama Africa by her members because of her kind heart and motherly disposition, has achieved in less than two years.

That is where I am not happy with nollywood practitioners. Just how or where do we find the courage to keep quiet when a deluded clown that needs psychiatric help speaks ill of someone that has served us well, haba nollywood, Darisgod o .

How can someone give so much for people that she loves and no one cares so little? Of course, it is not enough to call her up and tell her she is doing well yet no one will come up to shut up a clown that is blinded by greed and motivated by self. Do we want to go back to the generator stealing/ selling era? Or the times when opportunities will open up for the guild and a few people will “kolobi” it?

Where are the beneficiaries of Ms. Fiberesima’s welfare scheme? Where are the faces of nollywood that have been homeless since inception but have now been given a residence in Abuja just because one slim lady with a large heart took the initiative to dream and do the impossible? Where are the elders of our industry? Why have they not spoken to the press but will call Madam President and tell her to just take the insult from every miscreant that is high from something cheap because they are not on the same level? Where are the past presidents and why are they not taking Ibu up?

I want to enjoin our stars and filmmakers to speak up and shun the shallow brained one called John Okafor. Not because it will stop the popular imbecile from displaying his madness but because we need to stop this trend of anybody walking to the press and insulting elected leaders of our dear industry. It is not a good trend we are setting.

The other time it was veteran actress Clarion Chukwurah. Now it is ibu tomorrow it may be a “waka pass” that is just coming up. In as much as practitioners of the creative industry are expressive they are not morally bankrupt. We must let the public know that. We must realize the huge influence we have both on and off screen and be careful not to send wrong signals.

I would have apologized to Madam president on behalf of the deluded John Okafor whose brain obviously needs formatting but he is not even a member of AGN, so there is no way he can speak for an association he is not part of. Madam President, that pot belied buffoon is on his own, I have it on good authority he was high on something cheap.

Please continue the good work; I hope his unfortunate outburst does not dampen the zeal with which you have been pursuing the MOPPICON
