Crooner Burnaboy is sure bringing back the good old times of Ajegunle stars such as Daddy Showkey, Daddy Fresh, Baba Fryo and others, with his latest work, ‘Yawa Dey’.

Burna Boy’s video for the song ‘Yawa dey’ is ready too and if you have seen it, you would agree that it actually is simple and rich, which brings back the famed Ajegunle ‘Galala dance’ style powerfully choreographed by wild dancers.

Burnaboy’s emergence into the industry saw him reawaken genres that have long faded into thin air. The experiment of giving raggae Dancehall its place once again in the industry with his song, ‘Like To Party’ and ‘Tonight’ which can be termed R’n’B Dancehall tracks, did produce the desired results.

With ‘Yawa Dey’, he has successfully reintroduced, with a great amount of dominance, the genre which was allowed to become extinct in the industry by the Dancehall heavyweights who held it spellbound at one time.

His fusion of R’n’B with raggae stands out in an industry where Hip Hop, Rap and Hip-Life seem to be the vogue. And he obviously enjoys a great amount of fan base.

Being versatile is one factor that helps an artiste last long and maintain relevance in the industry. So, Burnaboy, has proved that, with his afrobeat inspired song, ‘Run My Race’, he is not limited to the R’n’B Dancehall pattern he hit the scene with.
