The issue of s3xual harassment is becoming a global phenomenon as a lot of people who, ordinarily wouldn’t dare to open up on such are now taking a bold step telling the tales of their harassment in the hands of uncles, aunts or what have you!

One of those who have been traumatized by the s3xual harassment menace is the Nollywood actor, Benson Okonkwo.

Hear his story, “People think that things are always rosy for actors. They think it’s always all about glamour but the truth is we have all had our ugly experiences.

I have gone through a lot in the past and that is what has made me the Benson Okonkwo many love and respect today in the industry.

I was s3xually abused at the tender age of 10 by my 35 year old neighbor simply called Aunty Amaka, a lady who I love and respect.

He further said that the lady took advantage of him on the fateful afternoon after luring him with sweets and biscuits.
She stole my innocence and ever since then I have been haunted by that hurtful memory.”

Benson who is still bitter about the issue further stated, “I kept it away from my parents, but I told our gate-man, who did not tell my parents too.

I grew up with the shock and it still disturbs me till today.

He advices that parents should mind the way they leave their children behind and says they should watch them closely.”
