Highly placed individuals from all walks of life have continued to eulogise the virtues of Prophet Obadare as the remains of the renowned evangelist were committed to mother earth in Ileki area of Ilesa, Southwest Nigeria on Saturday.

Prophet Obadare, the renowned evangelist and Founder, World Soul Winning Evangelical Ministry, was finally laid to rest at exactly 11am local time with dignitaries in and out of the country in attendance. His country home, Ilesa literally stood still for several hours as dignitaries from all walks of life converged to pay their last respect to the preacher noted for his frankness and uprightness.

Many members of his church, admirers and sympathisers meandered their ways to the revival ground on foot because of traffic gridlock. Hawkers had a field day doing brisk business, selling sachet water, soft drinks, snacks and memorabilia.

Members of the Christ Apostolic Church from all walks of life converged on the venue of the funeral service to bid Obadare farewell in grand style. Speaking at the burial ground, Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, described the departed cleric as a symbol of truth and spirituality, adding that Obadare rose beyond ocular disability to etch his name in gold.

“Prophet Obadare was an epitome of wisdom in the evangelistic world and his legacies will remain indelible on the sand of time. The lesson his departure taught us is that any position you are, dedication and faithfulness are necessary for success to be guaranteed.

His life taught us that whatever obstacle that comes one’s way should not debar but must strengthen one’s resolve to be successful. What God endows us to do, we must do it with our best ability,” Aregbesola said.
