The family of late veteran sport journalist, Deacon Ayo Ositelu has released the burial arrangements of the departed ‘The Arena’ master. The seasoned journalist and politician died some weeks ago while watching the TV with his wife.
According to the funeral arrangement released by Dr David Ositelu, who is the younger brother of the late pen pusher, Ayo Ositelu would be buried on Saturday, February 2, at Oluwaseyi Compound (Ositelu’s House) in Ogere, Remo, Ogun State.
On Monday, January 28, a service of songs would hold at the Church of the Lord, Aladura, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos. On Tuesday, January 29, another service of songs will be held for him at the Ejigbo Mini Stadium.
Wednesday, January 30 will be another service of songs for him at the Sir (Chief) Molade Okoya-Thomas Sports Hall, Teslim Balgun Stadium organised by the Lagos State Sports Endowment Fund. This will be followed by another service of songs at 10, Aina Street, Ojota, Lagos. These events will be held between 4pm-6pm.
There would be a brief lying-in-state at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on February 1, after his remains leaves the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi Araba, before departing for Ogere Remo in Ogun State where a Christian wake will be held at the Ositelu Memorial College between 4pm-6pm.
Deacon Ayo Ositelu was the first Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area. He was a respected sport journalist in Nigeria.
Ayo Ositelu would have clocked 70 in April.
