Nollywood veteran, Kareem Adepoju otherwise known as ‘Baba Wande’ and Carol King dazzled in a new modern cinematic adaptation of the Greek Classic, Oedipus ‘The Gods Are Still Not To Blame.
The movie, which premieres this December, was shot on different locations in Nigeria, Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire. It also employed the use of five languages; English, French, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo.
The flick parades array of stars like Akin lewis, Nobert Young, Dele Odule, Funsho Adeolu, Gloria Anozie-Young, Iretiola Doyle, Bukky Ajayi, Gabriel Afolayan and introducing Omowunmi Dada. It was directed by Produced by Funke Fayoyin and Byron Ene.
‘The Gods Are Still Not To Blame’ tells a story of a child who was born to King Adedoyin. While the naming ceremony is in progress, the leading clergy goes into a trance and proclaims that the baby will kill his father and marry his mother.
The child was later secretly taken to Cameroon so as not to make the prophecy come to pass. 28 years later in Cameroon, same prophecy was said to the him. This made him to leave for Nigeria. But what happened afterwards?
Was the prophecy fulfilled? December is a date to watch out for.
