Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State is right now at daggers drawn with his predecessor Otunba Gbenga Daniel popularly called OGD over the demolition of the Abraham’s Tabernacle,an interdenominational church built by the former governor and commissioned mid last year.

The church was named after Gbenga Daniel’s father Pa Abraham Adebola Daniel, who was also present in the church on the day of the commissioning.

However,Pa Abraham Adebola Daniel passed on last year December and a befitting burial was held for him while his remains was buried in a special mausoleum beside the church’s main auditorium.

Meanwhile,Gov. Amosun who was present at the January 27th burial ceremony of Late Pa Daniel has directed that the Church be pulled down completely.

Agents of Gov. Amosun had earlier besieged the church with armed mobile policemen with a bulldozer at about 7pm on Friday February 10 to demolish the church but met some resistance from indigenes of Sagamu who went to protect the church.

However,at about 12 noon of February 13,2012 Governor Amosun sent a letter to the church informing that he has revoked the Certificate of Occupancy of the Abraham Tabernacle.

We also gathered that Amosun had sent messages to Daniel to exhume the corpse of his father in the church as the whole multi-million naira structure will be demolished.

We leant Amosun’s security agents have taken over the church premises .

But ex-governor Daniel has reacted to the demolition threat, calling it blackmail by the Ogun State government.

In a release signed by his media assistant,Adegbenro Adebanjo the ex Governor lamented Amosun’s affront on the house of God.

According to the ex Governor; While we are yet to determine the ultimate mission of the latest invasion of the Abraham’s Tabernacle by agents of the Ogun State Government,we sincerely hope that it is not to begin a round of blackmail and propaganda against the House of God.

Reacting to the invasion and cancellation of the Certificate of Occupancy,Reverend Kolade advised the worshippers in the Church and other members of the Christian fold to remain calm.

According to him; the Lord is in charge, the earth and its fullness belongs to the Lord including the power to govern.

The last action justifies our belief that there is more to what is happening than meets the eye.

However,the Lord is in control.

The registered trustees of the Church will take up the matter legally and will ensure that this brazen injustice does not stand
