The nominees list for The Headies, formerly called Hiphop World Awards was released August 2,2011 via The headies website. The nominees were decided upon by The headies nomination Jury made up of top professionals in the industry and headed by DJ Jimmy Jatt.

This year’s edition will be holding in Abuja come September 2011.

Iceprince leads the pack with 9 nominations as he faces serious competition from 2Face who has 7 nominations. Followed by Dr. Sid and Darey with 6 nominations each, then MI with 5 nominations.

The two young talents in the game, Wizkid and Olamide grabbed 4 nominations each.

Chief Raymond Dokpesi gets the special Recognition award entering The headies Hall Of Fame
