Not minding his globetrotting these days, for both music business and personal enjoyment this may not be the best of time for Benue State born, pop star, Tuface Uja Idibia as he is currently battling alleged breach of contract of which he is being accused by a Lagos based music marketer, Muritala Alade Bamgbola, the CEO Happy Boys Entertainment of duping him millions of naira in pretence of recording an album for him 3 years ago.

Tuface’s palava according to the marketer started like a gentle man’s agreement when the two agreed to work together for the distribution of Tuface’s Unstoppable album.

According to Bamgbola’s counsel, James Ononiwu of White Dove Solicitors, his Muritala client would like to use this opportunity to set the records straight as there are several issues to be trashed out before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

Ononiwu also said that this became necessary when his client stumbled on articles Tuface’s new manager wrote on the internet concerning the artiste’s contract. To buttress his point, the lawyer showed the MOU his client had with Tuface’s company Hypertek.

“My client gave tuface #25 million naira cash with a post dated cheque of #5 million naira on June 12,2008 to obtain the marketing rights of the album,Unstoppable, and as sole distributor in Nigeria and West Africa. It was to be a two years contract.

His manager, Nazzy was with him then. My client gave Tuface and Hypertek that much because Tuface claimed to have done a collabo with American musician, R.Kelly but R.Kelly was in the country twice and Tuface was nowhere to be found. When you call Tuface, he would tell you that he is in the United States with R.Kelly but in an interview with JAJ on Silverbird TV, R.Kelly said he had never met Tuface except when they did the Airtel promo.

The current manager of Tuface was not present at the time the money was given to Tuface and Hypertek.

When D’Banj said he sang with Snoop Doggy Dog, we all saw it.So, why are we not seeing or hearing the collabo Tuface did with R.Kelly?

According to the Lagos lawyer added;Tuface sold to us an album with 16 songs in 2008,but half way in 2009,he released another one, Unstoppable International with the same songs.

He has the listening party of Unstoppable International on May29; 2010.

No artiste has been paid that much in Nigeria.

I hold Tuface in high esteem but this attitude is unbecoming of a musician of his status. My client has really suffered so, we are asking for #150 million for breach of contract.
