The Patrick Doyle Life and Beat met last weekend was certainly very angry. Though he didn’t cut the image of somebody who was ready to commit murder, the actor, broadcaster and producer told Life and Beat that some people have hurt him where it pains most.
Last month, a Patrick Doyle was arraigned before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly diverting N91.5m income taxes of his company’s workers.
But the actor said some people have gone to town with the story that said the accused person and himself are one and the same person.
“They went and wrote a story saying (Patrick) Doyle, a broadcaster, was arraigned for fraud. They wrote it in such a way that so many people believed I was the one and they still went ahead to put the story on their web site even till this moment,” the obviously angry Doyle said.
According to him, the story has cost him so many deals as some of his partners stopped doing business with him because of what they read on the Internet.
“One of my partners just stopped his dealings with me. He said I was a fraudster because of what he saw on the web site. It is no longer funny. I’m not going to take it lightly any longer because the story is so damaging. Some other people wrote the story, but they included the man’s second name, what he does and his age. The man is not a broadcaster. It is really annoying,” he said.
