It seems to be a fairytale when one listens to the voice of Nigerian hip-hop singer, Abolore Akande, popularly known as 9ice who was once a toast of every music lover in Nigeria. according to a source, he no longer sound the same way because his voice has cracked.
When one listens to his list of songs that includes songs from his first album (CERTIFICATE) and sophomore album (TRADITION), and the ones he was featured in by several other artistes, one would really affirm that his once cherished and sonorous voice has left him, leaving him with one (voice) that is cracked andprobably infected.
The damage in his vocal pitch was first noticed in the tracks ‘Liquor’ and ‘Charging Charger’ both in his last album TRADITION. There are fears that the crack appeared to have gone worse in the track, Legendary Hustlers with Coded Tunes fresher, Olamide’s RAPSODI album. Some observers express fear that he sounds like someone without a good voice trainer.
This, many opined maybe one of the major reasons behind the delay in the release of his much anticipated double album BASORUN GAA and VERSUS. These albums were earlier scheduled to hit the market in the first quarter of 2011.
