It was a herculean task picking out the loser among the top nine contestants in the ongoing Glo Naija Sings last Sunday. However, the duo of Moses and Ekeng shone like the stars with their stellar performance.
With their different choices of Naija contemporary music for the week, the nine finalists serenaded the audience and indeed the millions of viewers watching at home with good rendition of the music of top Nigerians acts.
Casey sang Wande Coal’s Ololufe and delivered it very beautifully while Velvet voiced Boma on her part sang Omawumi’s In the Music, which Omawumi herself admitted on Twitter she missed on Sunday night.
Da Brodas, (two blood brothers), Fred and Jeff Akoh, did a beautiful rendition of Iyanya Mbuk’s Love Truly.
On her part, Rasine’s performance of one of P-Square’s hits, Omoge Mi and Moses sang Asa’s Eye Adaba which he handled perfectly.
Shedrack sang P-Square’s hit track, Ifunnaya, Najite rendered Today na Today by Omawumi and Ekeng did Dare Art Alade’s Not the girl.
Peace sang Asa’s Bibanke, drawing on the passion that made the song popular.
All the contestants showed how fast they were adapting to the hard lessons of the programme’s Music Director, Dr Frabbs. What clearly came out of their performances was the distinction that Nigerians can sing and there is an abundance of talents all over the country.
Shortly before the commencement of the show, the anchor, Olisa Adibua announced that one of the 9 finalists, Niniola had dropped out due to personal reasons. He said as a result, no contestant would be eliminated at the last show.
