Veteran rapper, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, aka Ruggedman, has thrown his weight behind Afrobeats singer, Davido over his recent comment on the economy of Nigeria.
Recall that the Grammy-nominated artiste at a recent interview abroad advised Black Americans against relocating to Nigeria.
Highlighting Nigeria’s challenges, Davido said, “It is not cool back home. The economy is in shambles.”
The interview was greeted with diverse opinions amongst Nigerians with some insisting that the singer was unpatriotic with the statement he made.
In his reaction to the trending issue, the activist slammed those criticising the Afrobeats singer.
Ruggedman who noted that Davido’s view was on point, advised the government to fix the economy so that no one would make similar comments in the future.
In addition, the rapper said the hardship in the country is unbearable and said antagonising Davido won’t fix the country.
On his X handle, the rapper wrote, “Ok Davido has said what he said, moving forward the government should fix Nigeria so nobody will say such again. All this barking all over the place is not fixing the nation. The hardship is too much.”
