Assault: Alex Unusual calls out alma mater
Following a viral video showing some students assaulting their classmate, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, Alex Unusual, has slammed her alma mater, Federal Government College (FGC), Enugu.
In a post she shared on her Instagram page, the reality star and actress said the culture of student-on-student violence started a long time ago in the school and stressed the need to end it.
Calling for severe repercussions on the erring students, she emphasised that it is one of the ways to put an end to such a barbaric culture in the school.
Reflecting on her experience, she said, “I can’t count how many times I had to endure people hitting me like this, but one thing is sure: I made sure nobody went through it on my watch as a senior.”
She revealed that she never participated in such actions, and if anyone could attest otherwise, they should come forward.
Alex criticised the school for what she perceives as a systemic issue, pointing out that this is not an isolated incident but a recurring problem rooted in an unaddressed tradition of retaliation and bullying among students.
She lamented that, despite reporting such incidents to authorities during her time at the school, little was done due to a culture of bribery and indifference among some staff members.
The reality star called on the Ministry of Education and relevant authorities to take action against such practices in federal and unity schools, stressing that discipline should never involve mass beatings.
She stated, “While some people see this as training or discipline, I see it as an act by heartless people.”
